We love telling stories

Growing up, storytelling often began with a Swahili call: ‘Hadithi, hadithi’ …“Story, story.” And the answer: ‘Hadithi njoo’  ….“Story, come.”

Simple, but it meant something was about to happen. A good story, a scary story, a wild story, maybe even one you are not quite sure is true,  but you lean in anyway.

We love telling stories. It feels natural to us. Maybe that is just who we are as Africans: we tell, we listen, we remember, we make meaning of things through story.

In our work, we try to carry that same spirit, telling stories with care, honesty, and heart.

If I have a laptop in my hands, I am happy. If I have a pen, I am happier. A story to tell? Well, I am over the roof.

I’m a communicator by day- a storyteller, and a terrible cook by night, and this is my tiny website. I live in Nairobi, but I am a global citizen, or so I’d like to think!

We used to have a brown dog called Puppy, he was thirteen : (

I am lucky that I partner with some of the most talented creatives on the continent to tell African stories.

I’m honoured to have the opportunity to direct and share stories of people and incredible places in Africa, especially. This is a journey, a step, and a narration for and of ordinary people I meet. Whether I’m there on assignment, for my communications work or just exploring, I try to bring articles and images that tell stories and connect us to some of the remote areas.

I’ll try to be active (cross your fingers), taking you through my experiences with people inspiring change in their way.
